Badly damaged by Hurricane Camille in August 1969 the Ocean Springs/Biloxi bridge was repaired and served the coast for an additional 36 years. On August 29th 2005, however, Katrina had no mercy on the bridge which was completely destroyed.
With a cost in excess of 330 million dollars, 96 feet in height, over 120 feet wide, and a two and a half year construction timeline the new Ocean Springs/Biloxi Bridge is quite different than the one depicted in the picture below.
